Race Report: Short Track MTB #1

Sorry for the delay. Been busy. Can’t waste time with pronouns.

First race of the season. First race for the Gunnar.

Conditions tacky and dry. Rain early a.m. and then again after my events (for Cat 1s).

Crashed once after catching unexpected air. Scraped up my left side (why is it always the left?) and took my stem right to my sternum. Back on the bike after losing eight or ten places. Thom was one of them. But not as bad as the woman who broke her collarbone on the same spot. It was a crashy spot.

I placed 29th of 93. Orion placed first of a few dozen. (Yes yes, “everyone gets a sticker” but my three year old won the kiddie race.
