Roger Moore

Roger Moore wasn’t the best 007 but he was MY 007. The one on movie posters when I was a kid. FOR YOUR EYES ONLY was the first Bond movie I saw in a theater, and it's still one of the top 5. He had a keen sense for glamour, not an easy thing in the 70s and early 80s. He was also an amazing underactor, which most of his directors failed to capitalize on. The bit where he’s undercover as a clown in OCTOPUSSY should be laughable but he manages to turn it into one of the tensest moments in the pre-Dalton era. Even the duds are fantastic fun in a crazypants way. He clearly relished the role, and didn’t run from it unlike other Bonds.
