My wireless mouse threw a “low battery” warning so I had to swap for fresh ones from the charger. I realized: this is the last time I will change the batteries in this mouse. A week of lasts: Last Monday, Last Commute Over the Hill, Last Jira Checkin, Last Goodbye Ritual with the Kiddos (hug-kiss-highfive-fistbump), Last Keycard Swipe, Last Git Commit, Last Cup from the Office Coffeepot.
The rapid unwinding of my cherished daily rituals scares me a little. More perhaps than worries about finances or health insurance. I suspect repetition keeps me sane.
