I finally saw MOONRISE KINGDOM

OK this review is a) six years late and b) really short but

For fucks sake if you’re making a movie about camping set very explicitly on Labor Day weekend don’t film it in March.

I get that Wes Anderson movies are these twee little dollhouses of Let’s Pretend but this is pretty fucking big. There were shots where the litter was very obviously art-directed which is fine but all the yellow filters in the world won’t make the first weeks of spring look like the last weeks of summer.

Foliage issues aside it was a cute little movie.

(I only see movies when they arrive on HULU)
