Empty Rooms

After unloading the majority of our possessions in Ellen's garage in Bend, we returned to clean the apartment. Apartment cleaning usually inspires bittersweet feelings (nostalgia vs. new beginnings) but not in this case. It was a fine apartment I suppose but always felt transitional. When we moved in last year, I went through a period of really missing our old house, so maybe I spent all my emotions there.

More likely: I'm suffering some serious emotional fatigue around the move to China. For months now I have been feeling: apprehension, excitement, fear, nervousness, anticipation, wistfulness, melancholy. I am through with all those emotions. What's left? Empty rooms, I suppose.
